Artist's Comments
This portrait was taken just before Professor Robert delivered a symposium on practical applications for steam driven difference engines and their potential for information exchange if connected together via a inter-connected mesh of telegraph wires. Unfortunately, the professors concepts were not well received by his learned colleagues. He was unceremoniously booed off the podium and pelted with foodstuff projectiles. Professor Roberts work on steam driven machinations and clockwork automaton devises continues in an undisclosed laboratory/foundry located near the Don River in York, Upper Canada.
